Welcome Wednesday: Yves Amougou

Yves Amougou, who originally joined the firm in 2019 as a co-op, is now a full-time Electrical Engineer. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kennesaw State University in December of 2020.

Yves is originally from Yaoundé, Cameroon, and currently lives in Dacula, GA with his sister and their Golden Retriever, Rocky. Yves is passionate about making a difference and is most inspired by his father. He describes himself as a team player, ambitious, and honest. Yves’s favorite quote is from Milton Berle: “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” Yves joined Newcomb & Boyd because he appreciated the work environment and the opportunity to learn.

In college, Yves was an active member of the Electric Vehicle team where he was a part of a driven Go-Kart group. He worked towards understanding circuits and the manufacturing process to build the best Go-Karts possible for competitions. Additionally, Yves participated in the National Society of Black Engineers, where he volunteered teaching high school and middle school students.
