We are delighted to welcome our new co-ops and interns for Summer 2021! This multitalented group of students join us from North Carolina State University, Kennesaw State University, University of Georgia, and Georgia Institute of Technology. With backgrounds in music, athletics, and outdoor activities, we are excited about the talent and knowledge these students will bring to our firm this semester, Get to know more about this group:

Jared Arriola

Jared Arriola

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Jared earned his Associate of Engineering from Central Piedmont Community College in May 2020. Additionally, Jared currently attends North Carolina State University where he plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in May of 2024.

He was born in Long Island, NY, grew up in Charlotte, NC, and currently lives in Raleigh, NC.

At NC State, Jared is a part of the Wolfpack Motorsports Formula SAE team. His work includes researching and presenting fuel injectors for a 2021 car and sourcing an ignition amplifer for next year’s car that was previously only found in Europe. In his freshman year, he was involved in a design project where he was tasked with the design of a lift system for a bridge constructed using recyclable materials.

Jared is passionate about helping others in any way he can. If time and money weren’t an issue, he would enjoy working on his car more often, and would have a small shop setup.

 

Alpha BarryAlpha Barry

PLUMBING ENGINEERING CO-OP
Alpha is enrolled at Kennesaw State University and plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in December of 2022.

His hometown is Conakry, Guinea, and he currently resides in Stockbridge, GA.

When he is not occupied with school, Alpha works part-time jobs. Most recently, he was a Consumer Guide in charge of facilitating and directing customer experience at The Void, an immersive virtual reality experience center. Alpha also worked at the Fulton County Schools Administrative Center in their IT Division as a Hardware Support Depot Intern.

The farthest he’s been from home is Guinea. His favorite trip was visiting Cabo, Mexico, and his ideal vacation would enjoying a tropical, all-inclusive resort.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Davis is enrolled at the University of Georgia where he plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2023.

Originally from Buford, GA, he currently lives in Athens. He has two dogs: a six-year-old Yellow Labrador named Henry, and a five year-old, Terrier named Charlie.

Since 2017, Davis has volunteered as an independent math tutor in his free time, helping other students improve critical thinking and problem solving skills. At UGA, he is a member of the Club Cross Country team, as well as the Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity.

The farthest Davis has been from home is Arizona. His favorite trip was visiting Belize with his family, where he ate dinner on the beach and scaled the Mayan ruins. His ideal vacation would be traveling to South Korea and Japan to experience the culture and food.

 

Matthew FisherMatthew Fisher

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN
Matthew attends Georgia Tech where he plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2022.

His hometown is Greeneville, TN, and he currently lives in Atlanta. He has two cats, Leo and Lucy, and a dog, Buddy, all of whom he adopted from the Humane Society.

Matthew’s favorite movie is Inception, and his favorite TV show is Supernatural. If time and money weren’t an issue, he would go sailing around the world.

In high school, Matthew was a two-time Tennessee state champion in soccer. At Georgia Tech, he is the co-captain of the Intramural Soccer team. Additionally, he was a former member of the Tennessee All-State Choir, and is a current member of the Georgia Tech Chamber Choir.

 

Taylor SobczakTaylor Sobczak

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Taylor currently attends the University of Georgia where he plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2023.

He was born in Huntington Beach, CA, and grew up in Cumming, GA, where he currently lives.

Taylor’s favorite movie is the newest Joker film, which he believes does a great job of depicting
hard-to-talk-about topics. His favorite TV show is Ozark. If time and money weren’t an issue, Taylor would enjoy racing. He loves watching the sport (especially F1) and would love to own or be a part of a racing team.

In school, Taylor is a member of a project team of five people designated to create an initiative to repair out-of-order rainwater collection systems on campus. Additionally, he is working on a Sustainability Grant to help fund these projects.
