Nicole DeRosa

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Nicole is enrolled at Georgia Tech and plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in May of 2022.

Nicole’s hometown is Skaneateles, NY, and she currently resides in Atlanta.

The furthest she’s been from home is Milan, Italy. Her favorite trips were visiting her grandfather’s camp in the Adirondacks each summer, and her ideal vacation would be to take a road trip across America.

Nicole is an active member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, Sigma Chapter, a professional and social STEM sorority in which she has held several leadership positions.

She has also participated in Georgia Tech’s Alternative Service Breaks, a program that connects motivated service-oriented students with project opportunities over school holidays. For one program, Nicole helped restore Native American burial grounds and cleaned up the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

 

Toan DuongToan Duong

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Toan attends Kennesaw State University and plans to earn his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in December of 2022.

He is originally from Vietnam and currently lives in Lawrenceville, GA.

In his free time, Toan enjoys playing sports, eating Asian and American cuisine, and watching TVB Hong Kong movies.

He describes himself as diligent, loyal, and reliable.

Toan has experience working as an HVAC Technician where he installed, maintained, and repaired HVAC systems. He currently works independently as a handyman resolving residential issues, such as water heater installs, electrical wiring, and paint jobs around the Lawrenceville area. Toan is also certified as an EPA HVAC Technician.

 

Hanna Goldfarb
Hanna Goldfarb

ACOUSTICAL CO-OP
Hanna is a student at Georgia Tech and plans to earn her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Industrial Design in May of 2022.

Hanna’s hometown is Whitehouse Station, NJ and she currently lives in Atlanta.

The furthest she’s been from home is Budapest, Hungary. Her favorite trip was going to Hawaii for 17 days, and her ideal vacation would be to drive cross country to visit as many National Parks as possible.

At Georgia Tech, Hanna is the President of the Musician’s Network, a coalition of student musicians working to highlight musical talent on campus.

Hanna also demonstrates and teaches climbing skills, as well as leads rock climbing trips for inexperienced students as a Rock Climbing Instructor with Georgia Tech’s Outdoor Recreation. She also facilitates student and corporate groups on Georgia Tech’s Leadership Challenge Course.

 

Varisa GumpangkumVarisa Gumpangkum

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Varisa is currently enrolled at Georgia Tech where she plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in December of 2021.

Originally from Sanford, FL, Varisa currently lives in Atlanta.

Varisa describes herself as adventurous, considerate, and happy. She is passionate about learning from different cultures by traveling, meeting people, eating their cuisine, and hearing their music.

On campus, Varisa was a Peer Led Undergraduate Study Leader helping create session plans, leading study sessions, and earning an Advanced Tutor Certification.

Additionally, she was involved in various design projects, including a T-Mobile Hackathon in which her team won First Place for building a website to use Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for organizing common problems T-Mobile employees would face during customer service calls.

 

Lora TomovaLora Tomova

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP
Lora currently attends Georgia Tech and plans to earn her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Industrial Design in May of 2023.

She is originally from Johns Creek, GA and currently lives in Atlanta.

Lora’s favorite movie is The Departed. Her favorite books are Catch-22 and Native Son. The best concert she’s ever attended was seeing Travis Scott. Her favorite vacation was when her family rented an apartment for a month in a beach village on the Ligurian Coast of Italy.

Lora is an active affiliate of Phi Mu Fraternity working as Promotions Chair and serving on the Promotions and Sisterhood Committees. She designs all the merchandising for the sorority and handles distribution of products.

In her spare time, she volunteers with Children’s Miracle Network and Meals by Grace. Additionally, Lora is an Ordained Minister.
