Rusty Scott joins Newcomb & Boyd’s Consulting Engineering Group as a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer. He earned his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in May of 2016. Rusty was previously a Fire Protection Designer for Century Fire Protection.

Originally from Lincoln County, GA, Rusty enjoys spending time outside and being active, including playing sports, bird hunting, hiking, kayaking and doing anything outside in general. During college, Rusty played football for Georgia Tech and was a Football Letter Winner. He decided to go into the engineering field to prove people wrong. During his Freshman year of college, Rusty was told by an Engineering Advisor and his Football Athletic Academic Advisor that he would never be able to complete an engineering degree while playing football because he wouldn’t be able to maintain the grades he needed or manage his time well enough between the two. Because of this, he asked for the best engineering program at Tech, signed up, and wound up graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Rusty is pursuing his EIT.
