Newcomb & Boyd, a multi-discipline engineering firm in Atlanta, Georgia is looking for a registered Mechanical Engineer with experience as an HVAC Consultant in the building construction industry. Responsibilities
  • Support the company with the design of complex HVAC systems.
  • Oversee preparation of 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Design automatic temperature control systems complete with control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
  • Prepare documents, calculations, and energy modeling studies for the LEED certification process.
  • Coordinate design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
  • Plan project production process.
  • Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review and contractor assistance.
Expertise
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • EIT required, PE preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C) beneficial.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Four years (4) experience in the HVAC consulting business (large systems), including chilled and hot water system design. Laboratory and/or healthcare design experience a plus.
  • Energy modeling experience (Trane Trace, DesignBuilder, IESVE, or EnergyPlus).
  • Have a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into Senior Engineer and Project Management positions.
  • Must prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.
  • Able to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally.
